Open Water Certification Dives
*ONLY FOR THOSE TAKING OPEN WATER DIVER, THIS IS DONE AFTER CLASSROOM AND POOL TRAINING
Becoming an SSI Open Water Diver is the best way to start your scuba adventure due to worldwide recognition!
Students are required to complete and finish classroom training before participating in open water certification dives.
Certification dives are conducted under the direct supervision of training staff. All dives occur in Philadelphia Quarry, just outside of Knoxville. Philadelphia quarry has facilities that allow for excellent training in great underwater visibility.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Two days of diving, with hands-on instructors to ensure maximum safety. You will practice the skills learned in the classroom and pool, and apply those to a real-world situation.
WHAT TO BRING
Students taking this course should bring the following items with them to training.
- SSI training manual and logbook
- Mask, snorkel, and fins
- Any personal dive gear you may want to utilize
- All gear and tanks provided by the scuba center for your training.
